Job description

Job Title: Houseman at The Golf Club at Newcastle

As the Houseman, you are responsible for event setups as required by the Banquet Event Orders and as directed by the Head Houseman and Banquet Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform work assigned by the Banquet Manager, including setup as required by the Banquet Event Order or special guest requests.
2. Ensure complete and accurate setups according to established SOPs, Banquet Event Order, or as requested.
3. Maintain a basic understanding of Audio-Visual setup.
4. Keep meeting and storage spaces clean and organized.
5. Maintain service flow and meet Health Department Standards during setup and breakdown.
6. Build positive relationships with the team and assist in directing setup and teardown processes.
7. Set up for every event as per the Banquet Event Order.
8. Have knowledge of facility features like music, lighting, and temperature controls.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong attention to detail to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Flexible, adaptable, and empathetic.
• Responsive to guest needs professionally and efficiently.
• Willingness to assist team members and support business processes.
• Minimum of one year of related experience or training, or equivalent education and experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Must possess a current state-approved food handler's card.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work involves physical activities such as lifting, reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and grasping. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally is required. The role may include outdoor work with exposure to weather conditions such as sunshine, wind, rain, and temperature variations.

COMPENSATION DETAILS

• Hourly rate: $16.66
• Tips in addition to hourly wage
• Overtime eligibility
