Job summary

Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, FL is seeking a Banquet Captain to supervise events in the absence of the Banquet Manager and assist during functions. You will lead banquet staff, coordinate service between kitchen and service teams, and ensure guest satisfaction and presentation standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating catered events, communicating with F&B managers, inspecting linens and setup, and supporting staff training and morale.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of banquet server experience preferred.
• Must be at least 19 years old to serve alcohol.
• Food safety and alcohol beverage certifications required; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet functions when the Banquet Manager is unavailable.
• Assist Banquet Manager during events and coordinate service staff.
• Coordinate catering events per client specifications and BEO.
• Lead staff, communicate expectations, and monitor service quality.
• Work with F&B managers, Banquet Manager, and Banquet Chef.
• Inspect linens, set-up needs and table diagrams for events.
• Ensure neat appearance and proper uniform of staff.
• Assist with training, scheduling and staff morale initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with club rules and alcohol service policies.
• Complete post-event reports and coordinate breakdown/cleanup.
