Job summary

Cleveland Metroparks is seeking a Banquet Coordinator to book, plan, and coordinate parties, banquets, and special events at the Emerald Necklace Marina Party Room and other restaurant locations within the park district.

The role leads event execution, coordinates staff and logistics, manages budgets, and ensures guest satisfaction across venues. A flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in restaurant management, hospitality, or related field preferred; supplemented by two years of experience in special event management and hospitality; or any equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Lead as event manager for banquets and parties; meet with clients and book events; prepare proposals and contracts.
• Coordinate logistics: staffing, workflow, equipment, menus, setup, execution, teardown.
• Manage events to meet client needs and communicate with key stakeholders.
• Oversee event budgets and ensure revenue controls per procedures.
• Provide prompt follow-up with guests and act as on-site host.
• Evaluate events and promotions and suggest improvements with the Assistant Restaurant Manager.
• Travel to multiple park district restaurant locations to host events and meet clients.
• Maintain safety and respond to hazards; keep supervisor informed.
• Develop solutions for client needs; perform related duties as assigned.
