Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Nashville seeks a banquet setup associate to ensure proper setup, upkeep and cleanliness of banquets and meeting spaces according to guest expectations and Omni standards.

You will set tables and equipment, refresh rooms during breaks, and help move materials between docks and rooms. The role requires physical endurance, flexible shifts including nights and weekends, and clear communication with guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Clear verbal and written English communication with guests, management and co-workers.
• Previous banquet and event setup experience preferred.
• Hospitality/customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers across departments.
• Ability to think clearly and make concise decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 50 pounds; work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cleans banquet and meeting facilities prior to set-up.
• Sets equipment (tables, chairs, linens, office items, etc.) to Daily Work Sheet specifications.
• Provides required amenities as dictated by Banquet Department Standards.
• Refreshes meeting rooms during meal and coffee breaks.
• Breaks down meeting rooms as soon as possible after end of function.
• Moves convention material boxes, programs, etc. between hotel receiving docks, registration areas, sleeping rooms, or suites.
• Cares for the equipment.
• Accommodates special customer needs, hanging banners for meetings and food/beverage functions.
• Organizes back-of-house areas to ensure a productive, safe and energy conserving work environment.
• Inspects function rooms prior to and during breaks to ensure requirements reflected on worksheets are met; floors, walls, drapes, lighting per standards.
• Maintains cleanliness of banquet meeting space and equipment.
• Tablecloths and skirting cleaned and pressed.
• Ensures uniformity among all set-ups.
• Maintains cleanliness and order of storage areas.
• Completes special projects as directed by department management.
