Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Chicago is seeking a banquet attendant to prepare event spaces, coordinate with catering staff, and ensure smooth guest experiences during conferences and events.

The role requires strong physical stamina, a customer‑focused approach, and adherence to safety policies. You will work with other departments to deliver exceptional service in a fast paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift at least 100 lb.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Fast learner who can adapt to event needs.

Responsibilities

• Sets up function rooms with equipment per BEO.
• Provides ice water, glasses and refreshments as needed.
• Sweeps and vacuums function rooms and removes debris.
• Picks up and delivers all boxes and meeting materials.
• Delivers boxes to the business center for shipping.
• Ensures rooms are clean and presentable when not in use.
• Maintains wastebaskets at registration desks and inside meeting rooms.
• Sets up meetings with pads, pencils, coasters, etc. as per BEO.
• Adheres to hotel’s grooming policy.
• Maintains a cooperative, professional working style with supervisors and fellow workers.
• Performs all tasks with utmost concern for safety for self and fellow workers.
• Complies with all guest requests.
• Attends meetings and hotel training sessions as required by hotel management.
