Description

The Banquet Chef oversees daily culinary banquet and event operations. They ensure member satisfaction through proper communication and follow-through, acting as the main culinary contact for events and responsible for all food during these occasions.

Responsibilities
  • Managing: Resolve conflicts, monitor staff appearance and professionalism, delegate tasks, create schedules, train staff, promote a positive work environment, and work beyond scheduled hours when necessary.
  • Communication: Attend BEO meetings, communicate operational and staffing information effectively, maintain contact with employees and guests, and solicit feedback for improvements.
  • Product Quality & Consistency: Ensure high standards of food quality and consistency, assist in menu creation, oversee prep and service, and maintain organized and efficient kitchen operations.
  • Facility and Equipment: Comply with health regulations, keep areas clean and organized, and manage equipment upkeep and safety.
  • Financial: Assist in maintaining food and labor costs, manage inventory, and adhere to portion control standards to reduce waste and ensure freshness.
Requirements
  • High professionalism, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational and communication skills, and knowledge of the WEGC Employee Handbook.
  • Must maintain a current SevSafe Certification and have previous Banquet/Event cooking and supervisory experience.
Physical Demands

Must be able to walk, stand, lift, and operate kitchen equipment as specified, with the ability to lift up to 60 lbs and see and hear with correction.
