Job Description

We are seeking a leadership-oriented Banquet Chef to oversee our culinary team, focusing on supporting banquet operations in a high-volume, upscale hotel setting. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in luxury hotel banquet kitchens.

Responsibilities

  1. Advise the Executive Chef on kitchen operations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  2. Manage daily food production and presentation for banquet services, ensuring quality and consistency.
  3. Monitor and control labor and food costs, preparing reports to meet budgets.
  4. Supervise culinary staff, servers, and stewarding teams.
  5. Support banquet functions with kitchen assistance.
  6. Ensure proper handling of banquet food returns.
  7. Communicate expectations clearly and ensure staff adherence.
  8. Lead efforts to achieve high food quality scores.
  9. Perform supervisory duties in line with company policies and legal requirements.
  10. Handle hiring, training, performance appraisal, and employee discipline.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • AAS in Culinary Arts or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume banquet setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational, management, culinary, communication, and motivational skills.
  • Proficiency in Food & Beverage industry control procedures.
  • Knowledge of regional cuisine, production, and presentation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Food Manager certification required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, communicate, and smell/taste as needed.
