Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking a Banquet Captain in Virginia Beach, VA to coordinate front-of-house food and beverage for functions across banquet and meeting spaces. The role focuses on guest service, logistics, and ensuring hotel standards are met.

Responsibilities include supervising banquet staff, coordinating with conference planning and kitchen teams, and maintaining accurate function sheets and schedules for timely service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Customer Service Skills required.
• Prioritization and time management skills required.
• Must have a strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Coordinate with the event host on all aspects of the banquet function.
• Maintain banquet logs, function sheets, and BEOs.
• Ensure banquet rooms, service areas, and equipment are clean and ready.
• Oversee banquet function activities and service to guests.
• Plan event course and coordinate with kitchen staff for timely execution.
• Ensure smooth operation and adherence to hotel standards.
