Job summary

Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa in Amelia Island, FL is seeking a Banquet Captain to supervise the floor and banquet service, ensuring flawless execution of events and guest satisfaction. You will lead banquet servers and bartenders, coordinate all service steps, and ensure food presentation and timeliness align with BEOs.

The role requires strong leadership, a guest-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy resort setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of banquet leadership in a four-star/four-diamond hotel or resort.
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TABC - or obtain upon hire.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and evenings.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and maintain a friendly demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork-oriented and positive attitude.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Must walk, push, pull, stoop, bend and lift items of moderate weight.

Responsibilities

• Control all aspects of banquet function execution.
• Supervise banquet staff during all food and beverage service.
• Coordinate all banquet staff during service.
• Assist Banquet Manager in banquet department operations.
• Adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
• Adhere to liquor liability laws.
• Conduct staff/pre-function meetings and other duties as assigned by management.
• Follow all details described on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Set tables to specifications and carry trays with excellent customer service.
• Complete banquet consumption sheets and attend required trainings.
