Job Description:

The banquet captain assists in overseeing banquet staff and coordinating banquet functions to ensure client satisfaction. Reports directly to management. Relevant experience in banquet/hospitality operations is required, including knowledge of food and beverage operations, food handling, and service techniques. Necessary skills include attention to detail, communication, organization, problem-solving, leadership, and training. Physical requirements include moving around, using serving trays, standing for long periods, and handling/setting up banquet equipment with weights of 15-50 lbs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining organization and cleanliness of banquet service areas
  • Providing training and creating work schedules
  • Evaluating staff performance and managing rewards and discipline
  • Coordinating food service between kitchen and servers
  • Inspecting setups and ensuring compliance with BEO requirements
  • Managing opening/closing tasks and inventory
  • Enforcing health and safety regulations
  • Controlling wastage and communicating with management
  • Mentoring employees and encouraging professional growth
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to supervise 10-15 staff members
  • Physical ability to lift 15-50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Background in banquets/hospitality required
  • Reliable transportation and ability to pass background checks
  • Weekend availability
