Randstad USA is seeking a proactive Banquet Captain to lead campus catering events, coordinating with hosts, kitchen staff, and service teams to ensure timely, high-quality hospitality.

The role requires 2+ years of hospitality leadership, flexible, part-time/on-call availability, and the ability to handle equipment transport and on-site challenges during events. Pay ranges hourly with day shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM on campus events.

Qualifications

  • Experience in catering operations, country clubs, or food service supervision strongly preferred.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift/transport catering equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee setup, service, breakdown, and cleanup of catered functions across campus.
  • Gather and deliver food, beverages, and supplies; transport unused food and equipment safely.
  • Act as main contact for event hosts, address guest needs, and resolve on-site issues.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and service-oriented Banquet Captain to assist in leading events within our campus catering department. Serving as the central liaison between event hosts, kitchen staff, and service teams, the Banquet Captain ensures that all functions run seamlessly, strictly adhere to designated schedules, and deliver a high standard of hospitality.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 1–3+ years of hospitality experience with proven leadership abilities. Prior experience in catering operations, country clubs, promotional/marketing events, or food service supervision is strongly preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for the entire duration of scheduled events and lift/transport catering equipment and supplies.
  • Availability: Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate varying part‑time and on‑call hours based on campus event needs.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Event Execution & Leadership: Oversee and assist with the setup, service, breakdown, and cleanup of catered functions across campus.
  • Logistics & Equipment Handling: Gather and deliver all food, beverages, and supplies to scheduled event locations. Clean, pack, and transport unused food, dishes, utensils, and equipment safely back to primary facilities. Ensure proper trash and waste management.
  • Guest Relations & On‑Site Problem Solving: Act as the main point of contact for event hosts. Immediately address guest needs, resolve complaints, and adapt to sudden logistical changes on the fly.
  • Departmental Support: Assist with event prep, general catering operations, and maintain clean, organized work areas throughout all phases of an event.
