Westmoreland Country Club - Banquet Captain

Westmoreland Country Club is excited to announce an exceptional career opportunity for a Banquet Captain. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to the clubs managed by Troon.

Key Responsibilities of the Banquet Captain:
  1. Review assigned banquet staff functions and banquet menus prior to scheduled events.
  2. Conduct pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards are met; assign stations and partners; and review banquet event orders.
  3. Communicate with the Banquet Manager or other coordinators to ensure all details are planned and met.
  4. Make timely changes and provide further instructions as needed.
  5. Ensure availability of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items for upcoming events; secure requisitions for items not in inventory.
  6. Check room setup before events and coordinate with the Banquet Chef regarding food quantities and timing.
  7. Ensure proper handling and storage of all equipment after use.
  8. Conduct random audits during functions to evaluate food and service quality, ensuring proper food temperature, placement, and upsell opportunities.
  9. Review banquet schedules, event calendar, and special events regularly.
  10. Incorporate safe work practices into job performance.
  11. Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; and three to six months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications:
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
