Job Purpose:
The Banquet Captain supervises and manages banquet events. The Banquet Captain is responsible for staff, ensuring banquet operations run smoothly, and prioritizing the comfort and safety of guests.
A successful Banquet Captain has strong leadership and interpersonal skills, manages multiple streams of information, and fosters positive client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Review and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) and Event Plans
- Attends weekly BEO meetings
- Shift schedule and manage employees and timetables
- Train staff on serving etiquette
- Ensure banquet courses are served on time
- Tend to guests' requests, questions, and issues
- Ensure the venue and facilities remain neat and clean
- Ensure safety regulations are communicated and adhered to
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Hospitality industry with a preferred focus on catering/banquets
- Ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, co-workers, and management
- Strong customer service skills and able to resolve customer issues
Reports To:
- Food & Beverage Manager, Food and Beverage Director, General Manager
Education:
- High School diploma required

Working Conditions:
- Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required
