Job summary

HHM Hospitality is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead banquet staff, assist with setup, and ensure services meet guest expectations at assigned functions in Culver City, CA.

You will coordinate with management to ensure event orders are followed, supervise service delivery, and uphold safety and alcohol-handling standards on site.

Responsibilities

• Check Banquet Staff's Event Orders to ensure information is accurate.
• Set up banquet room as instructed by management and verify directions are followed.
• Serve food and/or beverages in the order and to the supervisor's expectations.
• Replenish beverages and food items as necessary and check with guests for satisfaction.
• Act as point of contact for group representatives when management is not present.
• Communicate BEOs changes to catering or convention services and affected departments.
• Coordinate with banquet colleagues on set-ups, changes and time schedules.
• Inspect banquet areas at end of function and ensure equipment is returned and areas are clean.
• Abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Help with management to ensure proper liquor controls are in use.
• Practice safe work habits and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Focus

• Check Banquet Staff's Event Orders to ensure that all information is accurate.
• Set up banquet room as instructed by management, and check room set-up to see that Banquet Event Order directions are completely followed.
• Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
• Replenish beverages and food items as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
• Act as point of contact for group representatives when management is not present.
• Communicate all Banquet Event Order changes to catering or convention services office and affected departments.
• Coordinate with banquet colleagues on set-ups, changes and time schedules for all functions.

Work Environment and Context

• Work schedule varies and will include working on holidays and weekends.
