Job summary

HHM Hotels is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead banquet staff during events, set up rooms, and ensure service aligns with guest expectations. You will supervise service flow and coordinate with management to maintain high standards.

The role requires previous banquet experience and a high school diploma (or equivalent). Expect varied schedules including holidays and weekends, with opportunities for growth within the HHM Hotels group.

• Previous banquet experience required.

Responsibilities

• Check Banquet Staff's Event Orders to ensure accuracy.
• Set up banquet room as instructed by management and verify room set-up follows Banquet Event Order directions.
• Serve food and beverages in order and to the supervisor's expectations to ensure consistency.
• Replenish beverages and food items as necessary and check guest satisfaction.
• Act as point of contact for group representatives when management is not present.
• Communicate all Banquet Event Order changes to catering or convention services and affected departments.
• Coordinate with banquet colleagues on set-ups, changes and time schedules for all functions.
• Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure equipment is returned and areas are clean.
• Abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Help management ensure proper liquor controls are in use.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

• Set up banquet room as instructed by management, and check room set-up to see that Banquet Event Order directions are completely followed.
