Job summary

Oliver Hospitality is seeking a Banquet Captain in Clarksville, TN to lead banquet service teams and ensure flawless event execution. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and skilled at staff management while upholding high hospitality standards.

You will coordinate with the Director of Food & Beverage and Event Coordinator to plan events, supervise service, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Assign specific tasks to staff for each event, covering all shifts.
• Lead team lineups at the start of each shift and inspect uniforms.
• Welcome the host and maintain communication during events.
• Plan events with Director of Food & Beverage and Event Coordinator.
• Record issued uniforms and ensure they are returned; manage cleaning.
• Maintain clean and orderly front and back of house.
• Explain major ingredients and preparation methods to guests.
• Create detailed reports of each function with host comments.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests.
• Use POS systems as needed.
• Handle guest complaints within authority or escalate to management.
• Participate in staff meetings and liaise with management.

We are seeking a Banquet Captain to lead banquet service teams, ensure smooth event execution, and deliver exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and skilled at managing staff while maintaining high standards of service and hospitality.

Responsibilities:

• Assign specific tasks to staff for each event, covering all work shifts, including set-up, reception, event tear-down, and side work.
• Lead team lineups at the start of each shift. Inspect uniforms, review assignments, and go over the steps of service for each event.
• Welcome the host (on-site contact) for assigned events and maintain communication throughout the event.
• Work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Event Coordinator to plan all events.
• Record issued uniforms and ensure they are returned. Sort dirty uniforms for cleaning.
• Ensure both the front and back of the house are kept clean and orderly.
• Be knowledgeable about the menu for each event and be able to explain major ingredients and preparation methods to guests.
• Create detailed reports of each function, including comments from the host.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests.
• Use a cash register or point of sale system as needed.
• Handle guest complaints within the scope of authority, or refer them to management. Notify supervisors or security of any unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged thefts.
• Carry out other job-related duties as assigned.
• Participate in all staff meetings as required by management.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work on your feet for up to 12 hours. Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and supplies weighing 20 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion.
