Job summary

Sarasota Art Ovation Hotel is seeking a friendly Banquet Server to support events and banquets. You will set up tables, greet guests, take beverage orders, and serve meals according to standards. The role requires a welcoming attitude, flexibility, and the ability to communicate with guests and team members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in banquet operations and/or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers.
• High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
• Minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training.
• Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS).
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions for clientele.

Responsibilities

• Set up assigned tables and assist with seating as needed.
• Greet guests, take and retrieve beverage orders, using suggestive selling when required.
• Serve food courses and non-alcoholic beverages to guests per standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and stations.
• Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to requests.
• Handle guest complaints and ensure satisfaction.
• Monitor hotel services and respond to inquiries about local attractions.
• Other duties as assigned.
