Job summary

The Sarasota Art Ovation Hotel seeks a banquet setup associate to support events in our meeting spaces. You will set up rooms to event orders, transport staging, tables and chairs, and ensure glassware and water are replenished during functions.

A high school diploma is preferred and prior banquet or hospitality experience is a plus. The role requires ability to communicate with management and co-workers and to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in banquet operations and/or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and co-workers.
• High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Banquet Setup: Set up all meeting rooms to specifications of the event order, including transporting heavy materials.
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and water.
• Break down meetings and return to storage to reset for the next function.
• Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Maintain cleaning schedule of meeting rooms and ballrooms; perform vacuuming and upkeep.
