Location Description

Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is nestled high atop the majestic San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174’. This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space.

Overview

POSITION PURPOSE:

To serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Also, to prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests, and act as cashier for the lounge.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis, including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
2. Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
3. Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
4. Attends monthly departmental meetings.
5. Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest and personnel guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
6. Practice "Teamwork" and "Clean as you Go" policies.
7. Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
8. Locks up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
9. All Bartenders must successfully complete T.I.P.S. Training.
10. Responsible for sanitation in and around the bar area.
11. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Pyramid Hotel Group from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
12. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
13. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Pyramid Hotel Group rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:

1. Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
2. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested e.g., special guest requests.
3. Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
4. Other duties as assigned such as assisting security with disorderly guests.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:

1. Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
2. Basic mathematical and computer skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
3. Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers.
4. Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
5. Ability to transport up to 125 lbs. on a regular basis.
6. Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
7. Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
8. Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
9. Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. A minimum of two years of experience in mixology, cocktails, wines, and spirits with the ability to craft high-quality beverages.
3. One year catering, banquets or restaurant/bar experience.
4. A minimum of 21 years of age to meet BAC requirements.
5. RBS certificate and San Bernardino County Food Handler’s Certificate required or must be obtained.
6. Excellent customer service skills.
7. Pleasant, outgoing, engaging personality.
8. TIPS certified.
9. High volume service experience.
10. Excellent communication skills.
11. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
12. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
13. Must be able to adhere to a flexible working schedule.

Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is $16.50/Hr. - $16.50/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
