Job Summary
The Banquet Bartender is required to mix and serve beverages according to established company standards and local laws.
Accountabilities
The Banquet Bartender is responsible for fulfilling the beverage needs of banquet guests in a timely and polite manner. They are also accountable for liquor issued to them and for receiving payment for drinks, submitting these payments along with appropriate paperwork.
Education: High school diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. Previous bartending experience helpful. TIPS certification will be required.
Tools and Equipment: Banquet portable bar, wine opener, pour spouts, shot glass, shaker.
Physical Requirements: Long hours may be required. Medium work involving exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
Mental Requirements: Ability to convey information clearly, evaluate actions quickly, work well under pressure, maintain composure, listen effectively, understand financial data, and perform basic arithmetic.
Other Abilities, Skills, Knowledge: Knowledge of banquet protocol, thorough knowledge of wine, liquor, beer, and familiarity with cocktail ingredients.
Essential Duties: Approach all guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, comply with standards and regulations, prepare bar garnishes, count liquor, stock and clean glassware, serve drinks courteously, collect payments, clean and prepare the bar, open wine bottles, and comply with liquor laws.
