Job description

Set The Stage For Exceptional Celebrations

At Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, every banquet is an opportunity to create a memorable moment—against the dramatic desert backdrop of Phoenix and at the doorstep of South Mountain Preserve. From polished corporate gatherings to once-in-a-lifetime celebrations, our team brings four-diamond hospitality, energy, and effortless precision to every occasion.

We’re looking for a detail-driven hospitality professional who thrives behind the scenes and takes pride in keeping the bar operation beautifully prepared, fully stocked, and ready for the spotlight. This is a fast-moving, hands-on opportunity for someone who understands that exceptional service begins long before the first glass is poured.

What You’ll Bring To The Experience
  • Prepare and service portable bars for Banquet Operations, ensuring each setup is organized, polished, and event-ready.
  • Stock bartenders with liquor, mixers, clean glassware, ice, garnishes, and essential supplies from the liquor room.
  • Accurately document liquor distribution on “liquor-out” sheets in coordination with the Beverage Manager.
  • Prepare fresh garnishes by cutting, slicing, and peeling fruits and other perishable ingredients.
  • Mix and pour juices in quantities aligned with projected banquet business.
  • Properly store refrigerated backup supplies in designated containers for future use.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness in barback work areas, including sinks, coolers, supply storage, and office spaces.
  • Partner closely with bartenders to maintain an ample supply of stir sticks, napkins, matches, glassware, ice, and other service essentials.
  • Communicate low inventory levels promptly so supplies can be ordered without interruption to service.
  • Provide bartender break coverage as needed.
  • Support the breakdown of portable bars, helping load liquor and mixers onto carts for secure transport to storage.
  • Assist with additional banquet beverage needs, including opening dinner wine and other duties assigned by management.
Why This Role Matters

Great events feel seamless to the guest. That seamlessness is built by people who notice the details: the fresh citrus, the chilled glassware, the perfectly stocked station, and the calm confidence of a team that is always one step ahead. In this role, you’ll be an essential part of delivering the warm, elevated service Arizona Grand Resort & Spa is known for.

Working in Phoenix means being part of a vibrant hospitality destination where desert sunsets, world-class events, resort energy, and genuine Southwestern warmth come together. You’ll work alongside professionals who understand that luxury is not simply a setting—it’s a standard.

What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • No previous experience is required; bar or beverage experience is preferred.
  • A current Maricopa County Food Handler Card or certification.
  • A current Arizona Title IV alcohol certification.
  • Working knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and service.
  • Basic math skills to support accurate supply delivery and portion awareness.
  • Comfort using a knife, handling glassware and bottles, scooping ice, tapping kegs, and reaching overhead to stock supplies.
  • Basic English communication skills to understand requests and communicate clear, simple instructions.
  • The ability to bend, grasp, lift, carry, push, and move carts or hand trucks weighing up to 300 pounds on a continuous basis.
The Standard You’ll Set
  • Deliver every interaction with tact, professionalism, and genuine respect for guests and colleagues.
  • Communicate clearly, listen carefully, and act with urgency when the moment calls for it.
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance consistent with a four-diamond resort environment.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Follow all state, federal, and company liquor regulations, including requirements related to minors and intoxicated guests.

Bring your energy, your eye for detail, and your commitment to exceptional hospitality to one of Phoenix’s most distinctive resort destinations.

The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa’s leaders and associates believe each guest should be treated with respect and professionalism. We create a genuine experience, enticing our guests to return again and again. In order to be successful at The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, associates must share both our Purpose (Making Space for Genuine Hospitality) and Pillars (Hands On & Heartfelt, Sincere & Focused, Collaborative & Curious, and Conscientious). This includes possessing and demonstrating a high level of courtesy and respect for both internal and external guests. Our fun, friendly and enthusiastic associates treat every guest as if they were our only guest. A true customer focus is essential to success with our property.
