Job summary

The Abbey Resort is seeking a Banquet Barback to join our Lake Geneva team. You will help staff bars for events and daily operations, ensuring timely delivery of products to all outlets and keeping transfers recorded.

This role supports both AM and PM shifts with a focus on accuracy and hospitality. Responsibilities include setting up and stocking bars, receiving deliveries, stocking liquor, and assisting with function hospitality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Effective English communication and outstanding guest service.
• Must meet regulations for sale of alcohol and lift 40 lbs.
• Serve Safe Responsible Beverage Service training required.

Responsibilities

• Set up hospitalities and refresh during scheduled times.
• Receive deliveries and stock bars and storage.
• Fill daily requisitions for Main Bar and departments.
• Clean and stock liquor storage and Barback office.
• Prepare function carts with supplies for events.
• Monitor change sheets and adjust beverage supplies as needed.
• Assist on functions and restock items; maintain guest relations.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming environment.

Banquet Barback at the iconic Abbey Resort!

Compensation: Starting at $7.50 per hour plus tips

JOB SUMMARY:

As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at a full service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Lake Geneva. BASIC FUNCTION:

The barback’s responsibilities include delivering product to all outlets and making sure all transfers are recorded. The AM barback is responsible for setting up for all evening functions as well as putting away all deliveries that come in that day. The PM barback is responsible for pushing out bars and keeping all bars stocked completely. All barback are to keep all rooms clean/organized and write down any product we are out of or running low on.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent experience/training
• Ability to effectively communicate in the English language
• Commitment to delivering exceptional service
• Meet government regulations dealing with the sale of alcoholic beverages
• Ability to transport, handle, and/or lift and move 40 lbs. to a heigh of 5 feet (note: the transporting, moving, lifting, and/r stacking of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages)
• Complete Serve Safe Responsible Beverage Service training

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Setting up hospitalities and refreshing them at the scheduled time.
• Receiving deliveries and stocking.
• Filling daily requisitions for the Main Bar, Service Bar and other departments.
• Cleaning and stocking the liquor storage room and Barback office.
• Setting function carts with supplies for functions.
• Being aware of change sheets affecting the Beverage Department and making necessary adjustments.
• Checking and assisting on functions and hospitalities in regard to restocking items needed.
• Maintain the highest level of employee/guest relations.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
• Maintain open communication with management and other employees.
• Be well organized and efficient.

ENVIRONMENT:

Indoor and outdoor environments, working for as long as a function lasts. Indoor working conditions include walking on a carpeted areas and vinyl areas. Outdoor working conditions include walking on cement and grass.
