Job summary

The Standard Legal Recruiting seeks a mid-level associate for a conflict-free, litigation-only bankruptcy practice in New York. Qualifications

• 3+ years of bankruptcy/restructuring litigation experience in a large firm or comparable environment.
• Strong experience with brief writing, discovery, depositions, and courtroom work.
• Direct client-facing experience with executives, institutional clients, or creditor committees.
• Interest in early case ownership, and building a practice in a lean, entrepreneurial platform.
• Dedicated bankruptcy experience (including clerkships) is strongly preferred, but candidates with elite credentials from commercial litigation will also be considered if they have some exposure to or demonstrated interest in bankruptcy work.

Responsibilities

• Advise debtors, creditors, committees, foreign insolvency representatives, and other stakeholders on insolvency-related disputes (Chapter 11/Chapter 15).
• Handle cross-border bankruptcy and asset recovery matters.
• Manage creditor-debtor disputes and creditor remedies outside of bankruptcy court.
• Oversee international judgment enforcement engagements.

A conflict-free, litigation-only boutique with a global footprint is seeking a mid-level associate to join an established bankruptcy litigation group with continued growth and high demand in the practice area.

The role involves sophisticated work advising debtors, creditors, committees, foreign insolvency representatives, and other stakeholders on high-stakes insolvency-related disputes, including Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 proceedings, cross-border bankruptcy and asset recovery matters, creditor-debtor disputes and creditor remedies outside of bankruptcy court, and international judgment enforcement engagements.

Who This Is For

• 3+ years of bankruptcy/restructuring litigation experience in a large firm or comparable environment
• Strong experience with brief writing, discovery, depositions, and courtroom work

Hybrid, 3-day in-office schedule. The desired worksite location is New York, NY. Compensation range for this role is $260,000 - $390,000 + performance-based market bonus.
