Confidential Employer in Sacramento, CA seeks an associate to handle bankruptcy and insolvency matters on the creditor side, with meaningful client contact. You will work alongside experienced attorneys on high-value matters and have opportunities to take ownership of your work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bankruptcy and insolvency experience.
• Substantive creditor-side or creditors’ rights experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage matters independently and work effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Strong interest in developing a sophisticated bankruptcy and insolvency practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent creditors and business clients in bankruptcy and insolvency matters.
• Handle creditor-side and creditors’ rights matters from strategy through resolution.
• Analyze bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring issues, claims, and related disputes.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Participate in discovery, negotiations, hearings, and other bankruptcy proceedings.
• Advise clients on insolvency risks, creditor remedies, and strategic options.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys across multiple practice areas.
• Manage matters independently while contributing to a highly experienced legal team.

Location:

Sacramento, CA — Hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two remote days, typically Monday and Friday.

Note:

Must have an active California Bar license and 3+ years of bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditor-side/creditors’ rights experience. More senior attorneys are welcome, and candidates from in-house or solo practice backgrounds will be considered.
