Bilu Law in Pompano Beach, FL seeks an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney / Civil Litigation Associate to manage a full caseload from intake to hearings. You will advise debtors on Chapter 7 options, draft petitions, negotiate with creditors, and appear at hearings and meetings of creditors.

We require 5–10 years of civil litigation, Florida Bar admission, and the ability to work on-site with a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Role Description The Bankruptcy Attorney / Civil Litigation Associate Attorney will handle a full caseload of consumer and/or business bankruptcy matters, including client intake, case evaluation, and ongoing representation. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising debtors on Chapter 7 and other bankruptcy options, drafting and filing petitions and motions, negotiating with creditors, and representing clients at hearings, meetings of creditors, and other court proceedings. The attorney will collaborate with colleagues on related real estate, foreclosure, and civil litigation issues, ensuring strategic and compliant approaches to each case. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pompano Beach, FL, requiring regular client meetings, court appearances, and coordination with staff to move cases efficiently through the bankruptcy process.

We are seeking an attorney with 5 to 10 years of civil litigation and trial experience who can fully handle all phases of litigation, prioritize workloads to meet deadlines, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and produce accurate and high-quality work product in a fast-paced volume-based environment. The candidate must be able to work independently and possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Previous exposure to bankruptcy litigation, business litigation, real estate litigation or general civil litigation is required. Bar membership in Florida is required.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, and includes our benefits package. Additional compensation and special consideration will be given to candidates who are bilingual. We are looking to hire a candidate with the aforementioned bar membership(s) who lives in or is interested in working in the Pompano Beach, FL area.

Qualifications

• Civil litigation and Trial Experience required
• Strong knowledge of Bankruptcy Law and familiarity with related state and federal regulations.
• Experience advising Debtors on options, rights, and obligations in bankruptcy matters.
• Practical experience with Chapter 7, 13 & 11 filings, from initial evaluation through discharge.
• Understanding of Creditors' Rights and ability to navigate negotiations and contested matters.
• Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions and other bankruptcy pleadings.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the Florida Bar.
• Multiple years of civil litigation and/or bankruptcy practice experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Effective communication and client counseling skills, with a professional and respectful manner.
• Ability to work on-site in Pompano Beach, FL, manage multiple cases, and collaborate with a legal team.

Required Education and Training:

• Juris Doctor
• 5-10 years legal experience in civil litigation

Job Responsibilities – in this role, you will…

• Handle civil litigation cases related to real estate, business, & bankruptcy, and certain non-litigation cases from inception to trial
• Create case strategies and litigation strategies as needed

• Provide comprehensive review of all conditions precedent to filing of the action, including review of documents, financials, notices and demand letters
• Draft and review pleadings and correspondence to initiate actions
