Padgett Law Group, a premier creditors' rights law firm, is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney for its New Orleans office. The role emphasizes representing creditors in bankruptcy matters, with a focus on hearings, pleadings, and portfolio oversight, aligned with the firm’s standards of excellence.

The candidate will stay current on relevant bankruptcy law, coordinate with staff and clients, and maintain efficient processes in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Active bar admission in the hiring state in good standing.
• Admission or ability to get admitted to all bankruptcy courts within the state of employment.
• Experience representing creditors in bankruptcy proceedings or willingness to acquire knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend hearings and prepare local appearances with clear guidance on desired outcomes.
• Review and sign pleadings to ensure timely, compliant submissions.
• Monitor ECFs and dockets to track filings and docket events in real time.
• Provide templates and guidance to staff for pleadings; coordinate process improvements.
• Stay up to date on bankruptcy law developments affecting assigned jurisdictions.
