Job summary

A regional bank is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 5–8 years of relevant experience. Key responsibilities include managing month-end and year-end closings, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time position located onsite in Williamson, WV, or one of the bank’s other locations.

Qualifications

  • Coordinate preparation of Call Reports and other required regulatory filings.
  • Supervise accounting staff and support professional development.
  • Assist with audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Monitor expense management and support budgeting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.

Job description

Position Summary The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the bank’s daily accounting operations, financial reporting accuracy, and internal controls. This role ensures the integrity of the general ledger, manages month-end and year-end closing processes, and supports regulatory and financial reporting requirements. The Controller plays a key role in maintaining compliance with GAAP and banking regulations while providing accurate financial information to executive leadership to support sound decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. (CPA designation preferred.)
  • 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with bank regulatory reporting preferred.
