Job summary

Piermont Bank is seeking a Banking Relationship Specialist to act as the primary client contact, guiding onboarding and ongoing service throughout the banking relationship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of banking experience in a client-facing role.
  • Knowledge of banking products and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong technical skills with depository programs such as account opening systems.
  • Excellent customer communication and relationship skills.
  • Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The Role:

The Banking Relationship Specialist is an integral member of Piermont Bank's Banking Relationship team. This role serves as a primary point of contact for clients, supporting them throughout the lifecycle of their banking relationship. The Banking Relationship Specialist is responsible for delivering an exceptional onboarding and service experience, facilitating day-to-day banking transactions, and partnering with internal teams to ensure client needs are met efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for new clients, guiding them through account opening and implementation processes with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients by responding promptly to inquiries and providing timely updates regarding account status, service requests, and onboarding requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of banking products, services, policies, and procedures to effectively support clients and internal partners.
  • Process and support transactional banking activities, including wire transfers, ACH transactions, online banking services, remote deposit capture, mobile banking support, and limited teller-related functions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.
  • Partner with internal departments to research, resolve, and elevate client issues while ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Support account maintenance activities, documentation requests, and client service initiatives in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal controls, audit standards, security procedures, and operational policies.
  • Assist with record retention, documentation management, quality control reviews, and operational audits as required.
  • Participate in the rollout and ongoing support of new deposit products, banking services, technologies, and client experience initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance the client experience through process improvements and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of banking experience in a client-facing role such as Banking Relationship Associate, Universal Banker, Teller, New Accounts Representative, Branch Banking, Client Services, or a related position.
  • Knowledge about banking products and services, comprehensive understanding of regulatory and compliance related to daily job functions.
  • Strong technical skills and experience with depository related programs such as account opening, teller system etc.
  • Excellent customer communication and relation skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and work in a fast passed and evolving environment.

The hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other benefits.
