Job summary

First Bank & Trust is offering an internship designed to expose you to community banking through rotations in Retail Banking, Consumer, Business, Ag, Mortgage Lending and Wealth Management. You will work with experienced professionals, observe loan processes, and participate in customer transactions while developing a foundation in banking regulations and policies.

The program concludes with a presentation to key stakeholders and on-site training and compliance activities.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year of business‑related classes in a higher learning setting or the equivalent.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Rotate through Retail Banking, Consumer, Business, Ag and Mortgage Lending to learn core banking functions.
Observe and participate in the customer experience, identify needs, and recommend products.
Assist in processing customer transactions, cash handling, and cash drawer balancing.
Shadow loan processing from start to finish and develop loan file knowledge.
Prepare underwriting information and learn credit worthiness and policy guidelines.
View loan processing, servicing, and closing processes.
Attend meetings with loan customers and participate in department projects.
Gain exposure to Wealth Management services and banking regulations.
Develop professionalism, financial analysis, decision-making and confidentiality.
