Grand Missouri is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support the bank's accounting and financial reporting functions. You will record financial transactions, assist with reconciliations, and help ensure regulatory compliance and accurate reporting.

The role involves preparing journal entries, reconciling ledgers, supporting month-end close, and assisting audits while maintaining strong internal controls. A detail-oriented team player with GAAP knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in banking or financial services preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with analytical ability.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes with schedules.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
• Assist audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
• Participate in process improvement for efficiency and accuracy.
• Respond to accounting inquiries from internal departments and support reporting needs.
• Monitor third-party investments, public funds, and pledging; prepare monthly statements.
