Job summary

Rain is seeking a Compliance Associate to support bank sponsorship relationships and compliance workstreams for new product and market expansion. You will translate partnership agreements and regulatory requirements into concrete product specs, prepare documentation for bank partners, and help launches move quickly without compromising compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in compliance, risk, or regulatory roles within banking, fintech, or payments.
• Working knowledge of bank sponsorship / BaaS model and third-party risk management expectations.
• Familiarity with core consumer financial regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, UDAAP, Reg E, Reg Z, Reg CC, EFTA, GLBA).
• Ability to read and interpret bank partnership agreements, regulatory guidance, and compliance requirements.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Legal, and bank partners.
• Excellent written communication, including creating compliance documentation.
• Detail-oriented with project management skills; capable of tracking multiple deliverables.
• Analytical mindset to assess compliance risk and prioritize issues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as day-to-day compliance contact for sponsor bank partners and track open items.
• Review new products and market expansions for compliance impact and translate requirements.
• Build and maintain compliance documentation: matrices, policies, checklists, risk assessments.
• Read bank partnership agreements and regulatory guidance to flag obligations or gaps.
• Partner with Product and Engineering from design start to build-in compliance.
• Support disclosure, marketing, and UX reviews for consumer protection alignment.
• Support bank oversight activities, audits, exams, and third-party risk assessments.
• Monitor regulatory and network developments in card issuing, BaaS, and stablecoins.
• Track deliverables across launches and escalate risks early.
