Job summary

Broadstreet Bank, a community-focused bank headquartered in Mineola, Texas, seeks a highly skilled Bank Controller to lead monthly close, ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls within its accounting function.

As part of the finance team, you will drive accuracy, streamline processes, and support strategic decision-making across bank products, audits, and regulatory requirements, while mentoring staff and improving workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent
• 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in banking, public accounting or financial services
• CPA preferred but not required; strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, and cash management activities.
• Manage the financial close process and ensure accurate reporting.
• Review preparation of standard and ad-hoc journal entries.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations align with internal controls and policy.
• Prepare Financials and close out books for bank activities related to bank products.
• Conduct variance analyses and investigate unusual transactions.
• Provide financial analysis to management and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accounting for bank’s investment portfolio.
