Job summary

# Bandsaw OperatorCentury Casegoods Plant 1 - Hickory, NC 28601## OverviewPosition TypeFull TimeJob ShiftDay## Description**Position Summary:**Position is responsible for reading route cards and/or sketches to cut wood or veneer parts to shape or pattern using a bandsaw.**Position Details:*** Cuts to line and holds cut to close tolerance + 1/32* Makes basic visual inspection of parts discarding those with obvious defects* Stacks parts and cuts more than one at a time when possible* Creates own forms, patterns and jigs as needed from scratch wood to complete task* Change saw blades and does preventive maintenance as required* Sets up bandsaw with forms, guides and blades as needed to run specific parts* Observes plant safety rules* Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties* Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor## Qualifications**Position Requirements:*** High school diploma or GED preferred* Previous bandsaw experience required* Must be able to read a ruler**Physical Requirements:*** Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours* Must be able to lift cores of 30 pounds or more* Must be able to load stock on pallets
