Job summary

RHF in Hickory, NC is seeking a full-time operator to set up, feed, and run the Tenon machine, fabricating furniture components at Century Casegoods Plant 1 in Hickory, NC 28601.

You will identify wood species, perform basic quality checks, measure parts, record quantities, and follow safety policies as you move finished pieces to the next operation. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to production schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience running a Tenon machine in wood product manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Set up, feed and operate the Tenon machine to machine furniture parts.
• Trims, notches, rabs, grooves or otherwise cuts furniture parts on the Tenon machine.
• Makes basic visual inspection of parts and discards those with obvious defects.
• Checks first piece run and spot checks to verify specifications.
• Counts parts and records quantities on work sheet.
• Sets up and makes adjustments required during run.
• Pushes finished product to next operation.
• Uses a tape measure to verify measurements on the wood.
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
• All other duties assigned.

• Must be able to identify wood species such as maple, ash, mahogany, and walnut
• Required to setup, feed and operate the Tenon machine
• Trims, notches, rabs, groves or otherwise cuts furniture parts on the Tenon machine
• Makes basic visual inspection of parts and discards those with obvious defects
• Checks first piece run and spot checks whenever operating machine to validate specifications
• Counts parts and records quantities on work sheet
• Sets up and makes adjustments required during run
• Pushes finished product to next operation
• Required to use a tape measure to verify measurements on the wood
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties assigned

Qualifications / Position Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience running a Tenon machine in the manufacture of wood products
