Job summary

Concorde Education is seeking independent instructional contractors to provide band and instrumental music enrichment services for K-12 students at partner schools. Assignments vary by school and grade level, typically 1–4 instructional hours per week for about 10 weeks per assignment, with opportunities throughout the school year.

Compensation is typically $50+ per completed instructional service hour, with rate negotiable based on assignment scope, location, and schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 60 college credits, where required by assignment/site.
• Experience in band, instrumental music, music education, conducting, performance, or related musical disciplines.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, directing ensembles, and/or leading activities with school-age students.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom facilitation skills.
• Availability to provide services for the accepted assignment schedule and communicate schedule issues promptly.
• Ability to demonstrate musicianship while fostering collaboration, confidence, and student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate band rehearsals and instrumental music sessions.
• Introduce students to foundational musicianship, instrumental technique, ensemble performance, and music literacy through structured rehearsals.
• Adapt instruction based on student experience levels, site requirements, available resources, and program objectives.
• Support students in developing individual playing skills, ensemble collaboration, rehearsal habits, and performance confidence through rehearsals and concert preparation.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive learning environment.
• Communicate assignment-related needs or concerns with Concorde and school staff.
• Complete a brief session completion form after each scheduled session.
• Follow applicable site safety, visitor, classroom, emergency, equipment, and student-protection procedures.
