Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.
• Basic math for simple addition, subtraction, counting and recording.

• Stay organized and keep up with a busy bakery pace.
• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted; up to six months of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly.
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, and taking bakery orders.
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness and supply levels.
• Prepare, finish and replenish baked goods for baking readiness.
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Check in product, put away product, and review invoices as needed.
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable.
• Remove trash and maintain a tidy department.
• Work with teammates to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Maintain Hy-Vee dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
