Hy-Vee Inc. bakery clerks provide friendly, hands-on service at the bakery counter, prepare and replenish baked goods, and help maintain a clean, organized work area. You’ll assist customers, monitor freshness, and complete daily tasks with attention to hygiene and safety standards.

Ideal candidates welcome teamwork, understand basic math, follow instructions, and can work a fast-paced shift in a store bakery environment. Prior experience is a plus, but commitment to service is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.
• Use basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
• Communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way.
• Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy bakery environment.
• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent experience accepted; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred

Aufgaben

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and making them feel welcome in the bakery
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and taking orders at the bakery counter
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels throughout your shift
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods as needed, pulling product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for baking
• Follow and maintain proper sanitation procedures, keeping your work area clean and organized at all times
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable
• Remove trash in a timely manner and maintain a tidy department
• Work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed
