Hy-Vee in Minnesota’s bakery department is seeking a friendly Bakery Clerk to prepare, replenish and assist customers at the bakery counter. You’ll help maintain freshness, cleanliness, and a welcoming experience across shifts, including nights and weekends.

Applicants should enjoy hands-on work, be ready to handle multiple tasks, and contribute to a team that delivers smiles and quality baked goods to customers.

Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.
• Use basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
• Communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way.
• Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy bakery environment.
• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred

Responsabilités

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and making them feel welcome in the bakery
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and taking orders at the bakery counter
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels throughout your shift
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods as needed, pulling product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for baking
• Follow and maintain proper sanitation procedures, keeping your work area clean and organized at all times
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable
• Remove trash in a timely manner and maintain a tidy department
• Work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed
• You’ll receive direction and support from: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home, and Bakery Department Manager
