Job summary

Hy-Vee is hiring a Bakery Clerk for our store bakery. You will greet customers, help them find items, and maintain a welcoming bakery section. This role emphasizes teamwork and delivering a warm, smile-filled experience.

No prior bakery experience is required. We provide training and support to help you stock, prepare, and replenish baked goods, keep the area clean, and operate the register as needed. Employment contingent on pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills for simple transactions and records.
• Clear communication with customers and teammates.
• Organized and able to keep pace in a busy bakery.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and help them feel welcome in the bakery.
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, and taking orders.
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness and supply levels.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and keep work area clean and organized.
• Check in product, put away inventory, and review invoices.
• Operate the department register to process payments when needed.
• Remove trash and keep the department tidy.
• Work with teammates to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Adhere to the store dress code and all policies; assist with other projects as needed.
