Job summary

ShopRite of East Orange in East Orange, NJ seeks a Baker in the Bakery department to support the Bakery Manager with baking, dough mixing, icing, and packaging of pastries and bread. The role requires standing for long shifts and lifting up to 50 lbs, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

You'll maintain a clean, organized station, follow recipes, rotate stock, and provide friendly service to customers while adhering to store policies and time-keeping rules.

Qualifications

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying temperatures.
• Must be at least 18 years old to operate certain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a great customer experience while assisting the Bakery Manager in daily operations.
• Bake, mix dough, ice, package and fill designated pastry and bread items.
• Maintain a neat, clean and visually appealing department and follow safety guidelines.
• Follow recipes to produce specified flavors and textures; rotate merchandize to ensure freshness.
