Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Bakery Assistant Department Manager to help oversee daily bakery operations, lead the team, and ensure top-quality products and service. You will partner with the Department Manager to manage production, staffing, and inventory, while upholding Hy-Vee standards.

As a Bakery ADM, you will train staff, review schedules, and ensure fresh, well-presented product while maintaining a safe, clean environment for customers and employees alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ year, up to 3 years of bakery/related experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and training ability.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and perform other physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide outstanding service; resolve concerns promptly.
• Set up daily production schedule and assign tasks to bakery staff.
• Review production list and organize workflow; adjust as needed.
• Ensure display cases are rotated and stocked with fresh product.
• Oversee closing list and delegate duties to staff; maintain standards.
• Train new employees and support ongoing team development.
