Job summary

McKeever Price Chopper seeks an experienced Asst Bakery Manager to lead daily bakery operations, oversee staff, and ensure top-quality products and service in our Kansas store.

You will manage production, uphold food safety standards, and drive department performance while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment. This full-time role offers benefits and opportunities for growth in a busy bakery setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior experience in bakery or food production leadership.
• Knowledge of bakery operations, food safety standards, and recipe compliance.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively.
• Customer-focused with a passion for food and service.
• Willing to obtain a food handler permit (assistance provided by McKeever’s).

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and manage bakery team members, ensuring high standards for service and performance.
• Oversee production schedules for breads, pastries, cakes, and specialty items.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality control guidelines.
• Monitor and manage inventory, ordering, and product rotation.
• Support and execute custom cake orders, seasonal promotions, and merchandising displays.
• Drive department sales and profitability through product knowledge and team engagement.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of bakery staff.
