Job summary

Hy-Vee Cottage Grove is hiring a Sweet Shop Clerk in the Bakery. In this part-time role you will greet customers, take bakery orders, stock the shop, and help ensure fresh, nicely presented products.

No education or experience required; we provide training. You’ll work in a fast-paced, friendly team, with hourly wages from $13.00 to $16.25, and a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and excellent service. Benefits information available upon request.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction and count accurately.
• Ability to work as part of a team to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly service; greet customers with a smile and learn their names.
• Take bakery orders and answer questions about products with enthusiasm.
• Review daily orders, anticipate needs, and replenish products as needed.
• Pull product from cooler/freezer for baking and maintain stock.
• Check freshness and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
• Check in product, store it properly, and review invoices as needed.
• Operate the register; handle payments and make change.
• Remove trash and wash dishes as necessary.
• Price and order products and deliver orders when required.
• Work with coworkers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain hygiene, dress standards, and Hy-Vee policies.
• Be punctual and report to work as scheduled.
