Rosauers Supermarkets is seeking a Bakery Sales Clerk to greet customers, guide pastry selections, and ensure a welcoming bakery counter experience. You will weigh, price, package, and process payments for bakery items while maintaining a clean, inviting display and coordinating with the bakery team.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, attention to product presentation, and teamwork to keep the bakery running smoothly and efficiently throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role at a retail bakery or grocery setting.
• Ability to suggest pastries and products with confidence.
• Strong visual merchandising to attract customers.
• Ability to multitask and manage several bakery counter duties.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming customer experience at the bakery counter.
• Advise customers on baked goods selection and take orders.
• Weigh, price, and package items and process payments.
• Manage bakery ingredients inventory and request stock.
• Track expiry dates and plan usage.
• Monitor display and product availability.
• Report low stock to the Baker in a timely manner.
• Keep bakery counter clean and tidy and assist with other duties.
• Clean the kitchen after hours and prep for next day.
• Handle customer complaints and relay to Baker.

What You'll Do

• Creating a welcoming and positive customer experience at the bakery counter.


• Advising customers on baked goods selection and taking orders.


• Weighing, pricing, and packaging purchased items, as well as processing payments.


• Managing the baking ingredients inventory and requesting the purchase of stock.


• Tracking ingredient expiry dates and arranging their use accordingly.


• Monitoring the visual appeal and the availability of baked goods on display.


• Reporting low baked goods stock to the Baker in a timely manner.


• Maintaining a clean and tidy baked goods counter and performing other duties on request.


• Cleaning the kitchen after business hours and preparing it for the next day.


• Managing customer complaints and relaying them to the Baker.


• Perform other duties to ensure the overall success of our company.
