Job summary

Palermo's Pizza is hiring a Bakery Mixer/Machine Operator for our Canal Street facility in Milwaukee on the 3rd shift. You will operate and monitor bakery production equipment, set up lines, and ensure dough quality and process efficiency.

The role requires adherence to food safety, GMP, and safety standards, with cross-training across bakery equipment. You will work with Production, Quality, Sanitation, and Maintenance to keep operations running smoothly, participate in changeovers, and help

Qualifications

• Experience operating production or processing equipment is required
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to follow work instructions, SOPs, and food safety procedures
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well on a team
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor bakery production equipment used throughout the manufacturing process
• Set up equipment and verify production specifications before startup
• Monitor product quality, dough characteristics, temperatures, and production flow throughout the shift
• Make equipment adjustments to maintain product quality and maximize efficiency
• Perform routine troubleshooting to minimize downtime and communicate equipment concerns when needed
• Complete required quality, food safety, and production documentation
• Assist with product changeovers, sanitation, startup, and shutdown activities
• Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas
• Partner with Production, Quality, Sanitation, and Maintenance to keep operations running efficiently
• Follow all food safety, GMP, safety, and sanitation requirements
• Cross-train and operate different bakery equipment as business needs require
