Job summary

Whole Foods Market is looking for a bakery team member to support preparation, counter service and stocking. You will decorate and finish cakes and pies, produce breads and pastries, and help maintain a clean, safe, and inviting store environment.

Responsibilities include baking, labeling, merchandising, and assisting customers with friendly, efficient service. A strong team ethic and ability to work flexible shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Produces quality breads and pastries.
• Produces doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars.
• Performs baking, cooling, wrapping, and labeling of products.
• Stocks dry products.
• Develops new recipes and production techniques to ensure seasonal variance and high productivity.
• Trains production personnel to the highest standards in industry.
• Performs production planning and forecasting for special events and holidays.
• Maintains all production modules in the Datapax system.
• Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follows and complies with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment to WFM standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by store leadership.
