Bakery Processing Operator
Job Type: Intermediate Level General Labor – Location: Hanover, Pennsylvania
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate bakery processing equipment to produce product within guidelines established by Quality Assurance and to the highest possible standard of quality.
- Properly mix ingredients; monitor temperature/moisture, make adjustments, and remove any product that is improperly formed or overlapped.
- Operate and shut down equipment in accordance with established procedures, including changeovers and preventive maintenance.
- Communicate and/or escalate quality issues to appropriate team members.
- Read and understand batch sheets, follow recipes, and accurately weigh raw materials.
- Log current temperatures, mix times, item numbers, and raw material weights; make adjustments as needed.
- Monitor for possible foreign matter.
- Follow sanitation procedures for clean‑ups and changeovers, including chemical handling.
- Track and dispose of waste accordingly.
- Move raw ingredients using material‑handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
- Maintain proper raw material levels, unload raw material trailers, and keep personnel updated on material needs.
- Monitor seasoning coverage and adjust as applicable.
- Practice and adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping/5S and personal protection; keep work area clean, store supplies, clear aisles/exits, remove trash, follow safe lifting/carrying instructions, identify/reports defective equipment, report all job‑related injuries to supervision.
- Mandatory overtime may be required.
- May perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required).
- 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (not required).

Work Environment

Compensation and Benefits
Starting rate for this full‑time hourly position is $22.50. Individual base pay may vary by location and factors such as experience, skills, and education.
