Bakery Processing Operator

Job Type: Intermediate Level General Labor – Location: Hanover, Pennsylvania

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate bakery processing equipment to produce product within guidelines established by Quality Assurance and to the highest possible standard of quality.
  • Properly mix ingredients; monitor temperature/moisture, make adjustments, and remove any product that is improperly formed or overlapped.
  • Operate and shut down equipment in accordance with established procedures, including changeovers and preventive maintenance.
  • Communicate and/or escalate quality issues to appropriate team members.
  • Read and understand batch sheets, follow recipes, and accurately weigh raw materials.
  • Log current temperatures, mix times, item numbers, and raw material weights; make adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor for possible foreign matter.
  • Follow sanitation procedures for clean‑ups and changeovers, including chemical handling.
  • Track and dispose of waste accordingly.
  • Move raw ingredients using material‑handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
  • Maintain proper raw material levels, unload raw material trailers, and keep personnel updated on material needs.
  • Monitor seasoning coverage and adjust as applicable.
  • Practice and adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping/5S and personal protection; keep work area clean, store supplies, clear aisles/exits, remove trash, follow safe lifting/carrying instructions, identify/reports defective equipment, report all job‑related injuries to supervision.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Work Environment

Compensation and Benefits

Starting rate for this full‑time hourly position is $22.50. Individual base pay may vary by location and factors such as experience, skills, and education.
