Job summary

Sam's West, Inc. in Joplin, MO is seeking a Bakery/Packager Associate to prepare fresh bakery items daily, follow recipes, wrap, label, and store merchandise for members.

You’ll juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while helping members with bakery orders and maintaining a clean, member-ready area. You will contribute to an energetic bakery team, operate baking equipment, follow safety standards, and use handheld tools to support production and product quality.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Be a Team Member: Collaborates with other associates to build a strong bakery team; communicating with team members and being flexible to work in other areas.
• Be an Expert: Prepares bakery department merchandise by operating baking equipment; following recipes; wrapping, labeling, and storing merchandise; ensuring food safety, sanitation, and inventory management.
• Be a Techie: Uses handheld technology to assist with production, merchandising, training and product quality decisions.
• Be an Owner: Maintains work area, ensures quality/date control, packages and labels items, and reduces waste.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: Delivers high-quality service and products with energy and commitment.
• Complies with policies and procedures; uses Open Door Policy; supports business processes.
• Completes work by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers and partners; prioritizing deadlines and adapting to change.
• The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.00. Health benefits, PTO and other perks are provided.
