Job summary

The Bakery Assistant Manager supports the department manager in all bakery operations, ensuring excellent customer service, accurate order processing, and proper display stocking. Responsibilities include greeting customers, providing advice, taking orders, packaging baked goods, and maintaining display freshness.

Key duties include safety and sanitation, achieving sales goals, assisting with specialty orders, handling paperwork, inventory management, and training staff in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 1-2 years bakery or retail experience preferred.
• Basic computer literacy and mathematical reading/writing ability.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend and perform repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide advice to help them select baked goods.
• Take orders, package baked goods, and ensure display freshness.
• Follow safety, sanitation and regulatory policies.
• Assist with inventory, paperwork, and sample display maintenance.
• Support with cakes and specialty orders and train staff in manager's absence.
