• In the absence of the department manager, manage department operations per standard practices.
• Maintain a neat, well groomed appearance and comply with appearance policy.
• Recognize and coach associates delivering great service to meet expectations.
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems.
• Maintain communication with the department, store manager, and organization.
• Maintain merchandising techniques and layouts per company standards.
• Ensure department pricing and coding policy compliance.
• Work within MPP guidelines to maintain productivity.
• Support safety standards; report needed repairs; keep area safe.
• Develop product knowledge across assigned department.
• Understand department's Standard Practice manual.
• Ensure proper training of all assigned department associates.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
• Maintain department appearance and presentation.
• Treat associates with fairness and provide feedback.
• Perform special projects and duties as assigned.
